My son is a very deep sleeper. Hurricanes, sirens and loudspeakers will not wake him up. We were using another alarm prior to purchasing this product. The sensor would poke my son at every night and the alarm never woke him up – NOT EVEN ONCE in the 3 months we used it.
Bedwetting at 11 was damaging his self esteem and I felt helpless. After several weeks of researching alarms, I purchased the chummie mat and alarm system.
My first impression is that the mat is large enough to detect urine leaks and it offers significantly more comfort than the uncomfortable button sensor we were using. The alarm unit is very loud, loud enough to awaken my son and me; and it came with volume control!
The unit worked out of the box. I put the pad under the bed sheet and plugged the cord into the alarm unit. That’s it! This mat is very comfortable. My son sleeps on it like a baby. It’s very sensitive and easy to clean. The first night, the alarm was loud enough to awaken my son and me. Over the next few days, it woke him up every night and he would go to the bathroom by himself. 3 weeks later, he started sleeping dry at nights. Now, 5 weeks later, he has stopped wetting the bed

My 8 year daughter continued to wet her bed several times a week. I must say that this is truly a blessing for our family. The complete system is what we purchased. It was a toss up between the sensor and the mat based system. We purchased the sensor system first, but after using it for a couple of days realized that our daughter who has autism would not wake up to the alarm quickly enough. The bed was soaking wet. We loved the alarm though. After testing it for a few weeks, we made the decision to purchase the mat based system. The advantage of this is that it would not let urine soak through the mattress and the cord is to long that I could place it in my room and hear it when it went off. This way, I could wake up my daughter once I heard the alarm go off. The mat detected every bit of urine and beeped. Gradually, I started moving the alarm unit closer towards her at night til it was in her room.
Someone wrote that the mats may take time to break into. That may be true. It took our daughter a few nights to get used to the mat beneath the bed sheet.
We used the system for 7 weeks and she has completely stopped wetting. Success at last!

For the first two weeks she used the alarm, she was wet every night, but woke to the alarm. Starting the third week till the end of the month, the wet patches got smaller and she even stayed dry for 3 nights in a row. Three weeks later, she was completely dry. Yes, it did take nearly 2 months, but it is worth it. She has been dry ever since (40 days).
The alarm was very effective effective in changing my daughters behavior pattern. She now wakes up at night to use the bathroom.

We purchased the alarm and sensor system first. The problem was with the long cord. We were not convinced it was adequate for our son. We migrated to the alarm and mat system. The mat is convenient and more accurate because it picks up where the sensor misses. One classic example is when hes sleeping on his back.In this situation, the sensor will likely not detect any urine leak. The mat is a little more difficult to clean compared to the sensor which is just a wash and rinse solution. Overall a brilliantly designed product which delivered results.
We have been using it for 9 weeks and he is not wetting anymore. We stopped the therapy last week.
We have told our friends about the product and recommended it to family.

I was undecided between this one and the small sensors that other alarms use. My 12 year old boy refused to have anything on his undies and this was the only option, well this and wearing diapers. I think this is better for older children than younger children.
He moves a lot in bed and this product is actually quite nice. It is very large and comfortable. Easy to clean and setup is a breeze.
It works as advertised and we have made much progress in the last few months.
